In this beginner’s introduction to using pyrography (wood burning) you will create a set of three Christmas tree ornaments. The wooden decorations are cut and prepared ready for you to decorate with any design you can think of during this two-hour class.
During the workshop you will be shown different mark making techniques, using the pyrography irons and a range of nibs to get different effects. This will include how to safely use the tools and other practical considerations to get the best out of the technique. You can then practice on scrap wood before coming up with your own design for your decorations. You can draw the design on to the wood using pencil. If you are in need of inspiration, don’t worry, templates and ideas will be available to copy and work from and Jessica will happily help you decide what to draw. You can then explore the possibilities of this craft by working on your own wooden tree decorations which you will take home at the end of the workshop. They’ll make great stocking fillers or add a personal touch to your own tree!
All materials are provided so you just need to bring festive cheer.
